Tired of losing arguments just because your facts happen to be incorrect? We can help! Simply make your dubious assertions anywhere on the web and link back to us. We'll back up your claim as a "Researched Fact".
Some sample "facts"
- Most people don't know it, but Abraham Lincoln shot himself. Totally true!
- Your mother wears combat boots. I've seen her wearing them!
- Did you know? You can fertilize your lawn with used motor oil. My friend told me all about it.
How do I use it?
If you know how to make a link on the web, you can use researchedfacts.com. Simply put your "fact" inside your link tag like this:
<a href="http://researchedfacts.com/index.php">YOUR FACT GOES HERE</a>
Notes:- You must use that full URL in your link (including "index.php").
- You can put a slash or a question mark after "index.php" along with extra text so it looks more factual. (See examples below.)
- You can only use plain text for your fact. Don't put extra HTML tags in your fact. It won't work.
- You can put a "Researched Fact" on any public web page where you could put any other link. Email, IM/text, and private forums won't work. (Public forums work great. Hello, Reddit!)
- If you put more than one fact on a page you'll need to make all fact links a little more unique by adding a path or some query parameters after "index.php". (See examples below.)
How does it work?
Honestly, we have no idea. We were backpacking through the Himilayas when we met this young Bulgarian computer nerd. Let's just say he was in a peck of trouble and some local villagers weren't too happy with him. We've always had a soft spot in our hearts for nerds, so we bought him from the villagers for a carton of Newports and an old Hustler magazine. We're still not sure who got the better deal. To repay us for our kindness our new Bulgarian friend created this wonderful tool which he told us to never, ever, under any circumstances share with other people. And so here you have researchedfacts.com!
